Welcome to A Toddler’s Mom!
Our journey began with the birth of our baby boy, whom we lovingly call our Little Bear. From the time that he was born, he has had many health issues including severe colic, projectile vomiting, and difficulty sleeping. As he grew older, he was not able to tolerate any pureed or solid food without lots of choking, gagging, and vomiting. When he was almost one year old, he was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and he began to receive appropriate treatment.
Little Bear also has multiple food allergies and intolerances. As a result, I have had to become creative in the kitchen, coming up with snacks, treats, and meals that he is able to eat and that he enjoys. Not only do many foods irritate him, but he is also very sensitive to many environmental allergens, which has prompted me to clean up our family’s lifestyle. When I explain some of the changes, dietary and otherwise, which I have made in our lives, many people ask me, “How did you do that?” I am hoping that some of the information here will answer that question.
My Little Bear is now an active toddler. As a toddler’s mom, I am continually amazed at all of the life and love that he puts into everything that he does. Everything is so much fun when seen through the eyes of a toddler. And I love writing about our adventures.
Our experience has given my husband and I a new perspective on life. Our Little Bear has made us more aware of the great gift of a healthy life, and has encouraged us to be proactive in our quest for a wholesome and balanced lifestyle. Because of all of the changes that we have made in our lives, many of our family and friends have become more health conscious as well. We are on a journey together towards wholeness and health and we hope that you will join us.
Thank you for visiting.
