Since most sweet and sour sauces contain questionable ingredients, I decided to make a sweet and sour sauce that is gluten-free, soy-free, corn-free, and sugar-free which our whole family can enjoy.
Although the sauce is thin, since I didn’t use any thickeners, the flavour is surprisingly sweet and tangy with a hint of fruit. When it is combined with local organic chicken, it turns the entire meal into a gourmet delight.
What you need:
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
¾ cup honey
1 cup apple juice
2 pounds chicken wings
What to do:
Combine apple cider vinegar, honey, and apple juice in a saucepan and heat until honey is completely dissolved. Place chicken wings in a glass baking pan and pour sauce over top. Bake at 350 degrees until chicken is thoroughly cooked, usually about 40-60 minutes, depending on the size of the chicken wings.
